Summer Service Opportunities

Beans & Bread

Bag Lunches:
Beans & Bread needs 80-100 bag lunches for our Resource Center guests on Wednesdays.
We suggest the following contents for the lunches:
            1. a sandwich with meat and/or cheese – please no mayonnaise or pb&j
            2. a piece of fruit and/or snack
            3. a room temperature drink such as a juice box
You can decorate the bags or put in an uplifting note for our guests.
Lunches can be delivered Tuesday afternoons or Wednesdays before noon.
Please call to schedule a date when you can provide lunch for our guests. Contact Erin Shutt at 410-732-1892, x 111 or erin.shutt@vincentbaltimore.org.

Canned Vegetables & Paper Goods Drive:
Beans & Bread is in need of canned vegetables and paper napkins.  Consider
taking up a collection at your church, summer camp or in your neighborhood. Or just remember to pick up a few extra things at the store and bring them to Beans & Bread! Contact Erin Shutt at 410-732-1892, x 111 or erin.shutt@vincentbaltimore.org.

Sarah’s Hope

Meal Preparation:
Sarah’s Hope depends on volunteers to bring in home-cooked dinners and fresh lunches for its residents.  Groups can use our casserole recipes or their own ideas to prepare dishes that can be heated and served for dinner, make sandwiches for bag lunches, or put together after-school snacks.  For recipes and instructions, contact Conor Wall at 410-396-2204/2205 or conor.wall@vincentbaltimore.org.

Receptionist:
Sarah’s Hope needs volunteers to answer the phones, take messages for staff and residents, and ensure that residents and visitors sign in and out of the building.  Volunteers can schedule 2-hour or 4-hour shifts between 9am and 5pm on weekdays.  A weekly, bimonthly, or monthly commitment is required.
Volunteer shifts and food drop-offs can be scheduled by contacting Conor Wall at 410-396-2204/2205 or conor.wall@vincentbaltimore.org.
